The possibilities are endless. With some work, this will most likely end up for sale at the Flea. Ideas are churning already...
A Promise of Things to Come
Getting ready to mill a 43 1/2" diameter Sycamore and a smaller 24 1/2" Tulip. Just take a look at some of the spalt and wonderful grain properties they're sporting.

Yard Clean Up
We have been making a concerted effort at housekeeping at the mill yard. Resourceful Polo has been doing a bang up job at helping us get organized. We have created even more space to house logs and beams. Bring them on!
Our Favorite Task
We've had a great month with all the trees that we have recently sourced. Yesterday we acquired the two below in our neck of the woods, so to speak.
White Oak 37"x9'
Sugar maple 13'x37"

Adventures in Wood Turning
JT and I have plunged right in to the wonderful world of wood turning. We have a lathe, tools and plenty of wood to practice on. In our endeavor we also have an extraordinary friend and instructor extraordinaire - Alan Adler. We're loving it!
Turning a platter from Applewood
JT's live edge Walnut bowl. She's very proud of it.
As We Were Driving in Hartsdale...
We came across the Hartsdale Canine Cemetery which was the first cemetery of its kind established in the U.S. in 1896. Who knew?
Some famous animals have been laid to rest in this lovely cemetery.
And some maybe not be so famous but were no less loved and cherished by their owners.
And Those Mushrooms Keep Popping Up
Every day we are more and more intrigued by the variety of mushrooms in our yard.
This one looks like a tomato
Some grow in clusters and others are solitary
But all are fascinating
And beautiful
New Rochelle Walnut Tree
The Walnut tree which we spotted (and wrote about 11/24) in New Rochelle is now headed to our yard in Hartsdale. Big and beautiful, this tree will yield some great slabs.

of our Pin Oak coffee table. He was just jonesing to climb right on top of it.
Norway Maple
This beautiful Norway Maple, which was in venerable Van Cortlandt Park, was taken down yesterday due to rot. We look forward to milling, drying and the possibility of recycling it into something pretty cool.
A Proliferation of Mushrooms, Part II
Continuing our trek through the mushroom wonderland. We don't know anything about mushrooms. If you can identify any or all, please comment below. Thanks and enjoy!
